I just realized when I posted that thing about Musician’s Friend that I had never actually published the picture I took the first time I set up the ’studio’.

Looks pretty pro, huh? Not bad for $156 shipped. Now I just need to get another mic, and better stands. (I wanted desktop boom stands, but they weren’t in stock…not that it ended up mattering)

So, I got a letter from the CEO of Musician’s Friend today, apologizing for the whole Musician’s Fucker debacle, and offering 20% off and free shipping on my next order. Timely considering I was just admiring my gear last night and wishing I had the other mic I was going to buy.

Musician’s Friend: You will have your truce! But know this; ours is a fragile alliance! Do not trifle with me as there is already a small field nearby peppered with the shallow graves of those who have crossed me…this week.

Another random mic test. This time I had been adjusting record levels for optimal performance… I just came up with this tagline on the fly, and the audio gets cut off almost right after I finish, because everyone— myself included —burst out laughing.

Again, no plugins or cleanup were used.

So, as my recent blog post indicates, I’m having some trouble getting the audio equipment I paid for out of those bastards at Musician’s Friend, which would be why I haven’t gotten another podcast up yet.

I’m giving them one more chance to get me my stuff by the end of the week, then it’s BBB and I have paypal yoink the payment.

Were this more than simply a test, the show notes would include time-indexed external references to whatever we’re talking about and/or any supporting media.

I have verified that the RSS enclosure hack is working, I was able to retrieve the RSS from the frontpage with my PSP, subscribe, then listen to the podcast from the RSS Channel option on the XMB. Next enhancement for the podcasts, will be including a logo icon in the feed so it shows up on the PSP and other devices…

Beyond that, everything is in the hands of those fuckers at Musician’s Friend who are lying to me about the status of my purchases, and will likely not send anything to me before August.

Soon I shall commence making the custom GPMoD skin, so the look of the frontpage continues throughout the site.
